The Cisco GLC-SX-MMD Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) Transceiver Module is a high-performance, hot-swappable gigabit fiber transceiver designed for modern enterprise networks, campus backbones, and data center environments. Operating over multimode fiber, it delivers reliable 1.25Gbps Ethernet connectivity for access, distribution, and core network layers.

Supporting 850 nm wavelength optical transmission, the GLC-SX-MMD provides communication distances of up to 550 meters on OM2/OM3 multimode fiber, making it an ideal solution for short-range uplinks between switches, routers, servers, SAN devices, and storage networks.

This module features Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), allowing network administrators to view critical diagnostic data such as temperatur, optical input/output power, transceiver voltage, and laser bias in real time.
